What if I told you there was a better way?
Six years ago, I was lost. I liked my job, but was lacking
motivation, and I had a deep feeling of needing something else.
I started looking back at the things that brought me joy,
and remembered about my passion for writing.
My journey to bring back writing to my life has been
incredibly bumpy. With too many stops and steps back, stubbornness to keep going and a few setbacks. I wished I had had someone to help me get going, to let me know that prioritizing my needs was essential for my happiness and to become a better mother, partner, daughter, sister and friend. I did hear it at times, and I tried for a few days. I felt the benefits. I was feeling more energized and happy, and could deal better with my everyday life. But then I would be busy at work, get sick, feel tired and the first thing I would drop would be my “me” time (meditation, my walks, my writing time). I would go back to my comfortable “people-pleasing” mode and be okay for some time until my next crisis. This would go forever on and on.
Until one day I made the firm decision to keep writing “no
matter what”. I would not stop writing after my last course. I would keep it in my life, even if it wasn’t every day, even if it was just 15 minutes every 2 days. And magic began to happen: I started feeling better, more motivated, full of energy, and able to cope with my life’s struggles, because I had my little “me space”. It was like magic. But I needed to touch bottom (a recently divorced single mum with no family around and barely any support) to realize that without my small joys me and my daughter would not make it through the day. And I wondered why most of us need to touch bottom to make the needed changes. Why can’t we do it when our heart pleads it? And how can we make sure we do it, keep the momentum and out it on top of the list?
This is what this challenge is for: to make sure you identify your passion, find a way to fit it in your daily life and do not loose track, ensuring you prioritize it, notice the benefits and never let it go. I will give you a framework to take the first steps towards bringing back your passions to your daily life.
